Our development staff includes: John Murphy, Sr. Vice President John joined CASI in 1996 to help clients solve their database, interface and other computing issues. Since 2004 John has managed CASI product support, program maintenance and updates. John specializes in custom data-download interfaces, data conversions, database programming and reports. He recently completed a major download interface project and performs about 8-10 data conversions per year between various systems. John has created a dynamic caller-ID screen pop-up for dbLITE, several spreadsheet import interfaces to dbCAMS+, and custom reports using Crystal Reports. He has worked with Advent AXYS, Brokers Ally, Broker's Notebook, Centerpiece, CDS E-Z Data, and dbCAMS+, TechFi PORTFOLIO and other software packages and interfaces. John has over 7 years prior experience with an independent retail-brokerage and financial planning office. His key responsibilities included the management of computing and network systems, portfolio tracking systems, client and business reporting, customer service, and staff supervision. John designed and implemented a data download from a major broker/dealer utilizing FCSIs dbCAMS+ financial database system. John founded the Maryland Area dbCAMS+ Usergroup in 1996. Contact John Murphy Dick Welsh, President Dick founded Custom Advisor Solutions, Inc. (CASI) in 1993 to provide systems consulting and to develop software for the financial services industry. CASI has provided software solutions for thousands of Financial Planning firms across the country. Dick spent 2001 designing a state-of-the-art web based platform for the financial industry as part of a startup company. Prior to founding CASI, Dick was the managing Director of a 14-employee Financial Planning/ Investment Management firm. He was responsible for Information Systems development and management, Marketing, Human Resources, Accounting, Compliance, Regulatory Filings and Business Planning. Dick was an executive with a Fortune 100 company for 20 years prior to joining the financial industry. His background included the project management of large operational computer systems with project budget exceeding $75 million. Dick also managed a six-state, 200 person Sales and Service Center organization for a $430 million strategic business unit of the company. Contact Dick Welsh Dean Johnson, Principal Consultant Dean joined CASI in January 1997, following 15 years as an consultant to major investment firms money managers. He also has trading experience with stocks, indexes, and options, and an educational background in statistics, operations research, and time series forecasting. Dean has spent much of the time since joining CASI working on long term assignments for firms such as Fidelity Investments. He also developed the prototype for dbLITE and the algorithm for the rebalancing product. As an independent contractor, Dean worked on a number of systems for medium and large financial services companies. For a firm’s retail brokerage division, he redesigned a credit risk and exposure analysis system used to monitor branch level vulnerability. Dean created a system to correlate relationships between bond yields and economic indicators for an international bond division. For a global asset management firm, he built a trade rebalancing system, which is used to keep account holdings in balance with indexes or model portfolios when investments are bought and sold between countries. Dean developed an automated portfolio management system was designed to give managers an automated suggested trade list for accounts based on individual account profile information such as risk level and exposure. He also designed a client/server portfolio swap system for a major pension fund manager, which is used to trade over 6 million shares on the NYSE during monthly portfolio rebalancing.
